Eloy Sandoval, 94, passed away peacefully, of natural causes, at his home on Sunday, June 5th, 2022. He was surrounded by his loving family. Eloy was born in 1927, in Albuquerque NM, to Charlotte and Juan Sandoval. He is one of three children. Victoria and Larry have preceded him in death. Eloy loved collecting coins (numismatics), Golfing, traveling, playing the harmonica, dancing (especially the jitterbug), playing Bingo and worked as the MC Bingo Caller more times than we count. He enlisted in the Navy at the age of 17 and served at the tail end of WW2 and re-enlisted in 1950 during the Korean War. He married Julia in 1949 and was happily married to her for 62 years, before her death, in 2012. He was a long time Norwalk resident, since 1955. He was an active member of St John of God Church, The Knights of Columbus, where he served as Grand Knight twice, member of The American Legion, and volunteered regularly with The Arc in Downey, helping raise funds annually, selling Tootsie Rolls. They added two beautiful children in 1960 and 1963, Charles and Beverly, to their perfect union. He retired from AeroJet Ordnance in Downey, after 30+ years. His life was devoted to his faith, family, country and community. His best role was that of a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his children: Charles and Beverly (Sergio), grandchildren: Steven (Olga), Jennifer, David (Ashley), Charlene and Roni, great grandchildren: Jeremiah, Aubrey, Christian, David Jr, Julianna and Jacob. Thanks for the memories; we will see you again.
