With great sadness and heavy hearts, the family of Lawrence Joseph Molocznik share news of his passage to heaven on January 8, 2020. Larry is survived by many who knew and loved him as a husband, father, friend and -- most often -- “Grandpap,” including his wife of 70 years, Marie Mildred Molocznik; three children, Lawrence Molocznik of Corona CA, Thomas Molocznik of Solano Beach CA, and Marianne Grzybowski of Windsor CT; eight granchildren, Shannon (Daniel), Mark (Cozette), Mindy, Michael (Nicole), Bo (Brittney), Clay, Jonathan (Tonya) and Alex; and twelve great-grandchildren, Austin, Jonathan, Joseph, Kaden, Makai, Aidan, Reid, Paige, Cade, Damian, Isabelle Grace and Keegan. He was preceded in death by all of his siblings, Charles, Joseph, Louis, Rose, Josephine, and Agatha.
Born April 13, 1929 in Nanty Glo, Pennsylvania as one of seven children of Joseph Molocznik and Mary Thomas, Larry lived a life dedicated to family and church. After serving in the Army in 1946, he moved to California, where he met and married Marie in 1949. Together they spent 68 years building a home and family in Santa Fe Springs CA. Larry spent his spare time in his garage where he produced countless pieces of (very large) furniture, often from oak harvested during his annual treks to Yosemite or June Lake, his favorite places to camp and fish. He greatly enjoyed playing cards and at one point took up knitting, mass producing blankets for anyone who would take one. The absolute joy of his life, however, was becoming a grandfather and he quickly became “Grandpap” to all.
Should friends or family desire, memorial contributions may be made to St. Judes Hospital.
