Mark Anthony Luna, 62, passed away suddenly Saturday, January 29, 2022 in Fallbrook, California. Mark was born February 25, 1959 to Antonio (Tony) and Alberta Henrietta (Pena) Luna of Norwalk, California, the 4th child of 6 children.
Mark was born and raised in Norwalk, California and graduated from John Glenn High School in Norwalk, California in 1977. Shortly after graduation Mark got his first job at Disneyland where he began to learn the meaning of hard work. Eventually returning back home to Norwalk Mark worked for the City of Norwalk and then the Department of Water and Power in Los Angeles. When his youngest child was born Mark became a stay at home Dad, becoming more involved with St. John of God and went back to college to learn more about computers and started his own computer repair small business.
St. John of God was a special and meaningful place for Mark. He was baptized there in 1959, married here and went onto baptize and raise his children at St. John of God school. His grandchildren were also baptized there, and his granddaughter is the second generation to attend St. John of God School. He was a dedicated school parent and spent countless hours volunteering at the various school activities/events. He served as the St. John of God school safety chairman for 8 years and the Athletic Director for 3 years. His dedication and contributions were recognized when he was presented with the Parent of the Year award in 2013.
Mark’s greatest joy in life was being a Dad to his three children, Dominic, Joseph and Isabella. He shared his love for the outdoors and his adventurous spirit with his children throughout their life. From being a boy scout leader for his sons, to camping up and down the Pacific Northwest, road trips across country, fishing off the pier, bike riding, beach bonfires, and of course backyard pool parties and BBQ’s Mark was skilled at having fun and creating good last memories with his family.
Mark’s zest for life was seen by all he knew him. His laugh was loud and contagious! You couldn’t help laugh when he did. His smile was warm and made you feel so comfortable. He had a generous heart and wanted to help anyone he could wanting nothing in return. He was curious about so many things and had a passion for life long leaning and could teach himself anything he had an interest in.
