Mary Jane Herrera

Mary Jane Herrera, 86, passed away peacefully into the loving arms of the Lord after a brief illness on June 27, 2021 in Norwalk. 

Mary was born on December 8, 1934 in Bakersfield, CA. She worked for 25 years for Los Angeles County, making friends everywhere she went. She retired in 1999. 

She loved her family above all else and as a 50 year Norwalk resident, she loved calling California home. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandma who never forgot a birthday and who even traveled to Alaska and Germany to greet her grandchildren when they were born. 

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Anthony and Leatha Baca, sister Leatha “Bonnie” Cleaveland, son-in-law Richard Boyington, and her beloved Rusty. 

She is survived by her children, Janis Boyington and Michael Herrera, daughter-in-law Thomasina Herrera, granddaughters Kelie Escobar, Carie Herrera, Merie Herrera, and 11 great-grandchildren, Hollie, Devilyn, Charley, Taylor, McKayle, Ella, Israel, Roman, Itzelle, Elias, and Thomas.
