Rafael was born in Quito, Ecuador and at the tender age of 90 he passed away in his home in Cerritos, California. Rafael is survived by his daughter Marcia, 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild on the way. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Hipatia.
